Companies should first assess whether they fall under the definition of essential or important entities as outlined in the directive. Employees should gather information regarding:

  • The name and address of the entity.
  • Contact details including email addresses and telephone numbers.
  • Relevant sector(s) and subsector(s) as specified inAnnex I or Annex IIof the directive
  • Any Member States where they provide services covered by the directive.

By April 17, 2025 entities identified must submit this information to their competent authorities in their respective Member States. It's essential to notify any changes to this information promptly, within two weeks of the change.

This information will be used to identify entities that are essential or important under NIS2 and will be subject to enhanced cybersecurity measures.
